Victoria Breakwater

The Victoria Breakwater is located a block away from the Gingerbread Cottage Bed and Breakfast at the start of the scenic Dallas Road waterfront walkway. This is the view from the end of our block.

The Victoria Breakwater was built in the early days to shelter the Inner Harbour from storms.

Many of our Guests walk the block and a half to the Breakwater then take a 2 km stroll out and back to wear off their breakfast in a leisurely way.

Coming to Canada from Salzburg Austria, Gingerbread has been a big part of my life since early childhood.

Gingerbread has a long history, since medieval times it has been used because of its ability to stay fresh and wholesome for long periods of time, thus making it possible to take on early voyages and pilgrimages.
