The Gingerbread Cottage Bed and Breakfast has had many reports from past owners, tenants neighbours and B&B guests about ghostly occurrences in the guest rooms and the parlour.

Just today, Feb 24, 2008 two women bed and breakfast guests reported seeing a wispy woman dressed in a long white gown, walk across their floor and stare into a mirror in our own Mozart Room.

Many other guests including a world renowned author and psychic reported seeing entities in the Gustav Klimt Room, another guest room.

The Gingerbread Cottage was once owned by a reclusive sea captain who still, many years after his demise, guards his stash of cash hidden somewhere in the floorboards of the house. When the Gingerbread Cottage Bed and Breakfast moved into the old 1905 Victorian "Shotgun" duplex, Vanessa found many holes in the hardwood floors where other people thought the money had been hidden.

Many psychics have stayed at the Bed and Breakfast and noted entities throughout the house, especially in the "Gustav Klimt" room.
One particularly 'spirit knowledgeable' guest - a French Canadian psychic, in Victoria to do a large seance in a yurt, channeled an ancient English King named Penda. The chaneler said the Gingerbread Cottage is truly filled with warm spirits.
- Say what you will, but we think the ghosts stay around because they like the warm Austrian hospitality and the ever present scent of authentic Austrian Apfel Strudel wafting through the air. We are lucky that ghosts can't eat and prefer to simply enjoy the smells, or we would be baking constantly!
Another couple, who were Reiki Masters, remarked on the number of friendly entities in the Gustav Klimt Room and in the lower parlor.
