  • Culinary Instructor who taught her own syllabus of cooking classes through all the community centres in the Victoria area in addition to conducting private gourmet lessons and classes.

  • Cookbook Author who has written 5 cookbooks.

  • Skilled Craftsperson and Flower Arranger

  • European Hospitality for our guests having it's roots in Vanessa's upbringing in the uber-classy city of Salzburg, Austria

• Dean Brandhagen 

  • Master Tradesperson with three Construction trades and several design designations.

  • Web designer and songwriter.

  • Welcome Committee VP , busboy and apprentice dishwasher. He hopes one day to become the maitre d' of the cottage....

Cancellation policy

•  Due to the nature of bed and breakfast room rentals we require 14 days notice before booked arrival date or one night will be charged to your account. This is because we do not have the same access that motels or hotels have to walk in traffic and will often be unable to rent the room.

• Available to and from our door, simply board the AKAL bus at the airport.

• $18 per person downtown core. Groups of 4 or more to downtown core is cheaper.

Ferries from Port Angeles or Seattle

•  Just walk straight up Oswego St from the Coho from Port Angeles Washington or the Clipper from Seattle. Click here for map to our door

Ferries from Vancouver (Tsawwassen) and Anacortes WA

• Take the bus into town from BC Ferries at Schwartz Bay or Anacortes Ferry in Sidney. The bus terminal is downtown about 15 minute walk or short cab trip if you have lots of luggage. Click here for interactive driving map
